Simplified explanation of the cause and formation of wrinkles
1. For muscles to contract and form wrinkles there must be a release of calcium ions by cells in the skin.
2. During normal ageing, the release of calcium ions causes the formation of a Snare Complex (Core Synaptic Fusion Complex) consisting of specific proteins which causes neurons in the skin to release acetylcholine which subsequently causes muscle contraction and after time, wrinkles.
